Dentro do parque existe um escondido e agradável recanto de calmaria. O Jardim Japonês foi entregue pela colônia japonesa no quarto centenário da cidade de São Paulo em 1954. O espaço até hoje é conhecido como “Pavilhão” Japonês por alguns, fazendo referencia a grande feira de inauguração do parque e seus respectivos Pavilhões. O Jardim Japonês faz parte do parque e segundo lei municipal 16.703/17, não pode ser cobrada a entrada para passear nas áreas verdes e abertas. A área é cuidada há décadas pela organização Bunkyo.
Além do jardim repleto de plantas e árvores ornamentais, identificadas com nome científico e país de origem, há no espaço uma linda construção inspirada no Palácio Katsura de Quioto onde você encontra uma pequena mostra da memória e cultura japonesa. Em exposição você verá peças de cerâmicas, trajes de guerreiros e outros objetos típicos desse povo que tem em São Paulo a maior colônia fora do Japão. Para visitar a exposição como a entrar na réplica do Palácio, a organização cobra um ingresso simbólico.
Na parte dos fundos da construção, há um popular lago repleto de carpas que pode ser contemplado e, quem tiver interesse, também pode alimentar os peixes com ração fornecida pelos funcionários.
