Até aqui tudo bem. Agora o começo da polêmica. O conselheiro eleito pelos usuários para o Parque Ibirapuera, Thobias Cortez Furtado, defende a internet gratuita na contramão de puristas que buscam deixar o parque “desconectado”. Thobias argumenta que:
Todo usuário possui direitos intrínsecos e liberdade para interagir em áreas verdes, respeitando sempre a ordem social e o bem estar de outros usuários. O acesso a espaços verdes melhora a qualidade de vida e reduz o stress, o simples andar pelo verde relaxa a mente, logo devemos incentivar a busca e conquista do benefício de passar mais tempo nos parques.
Fornecer acesso gratuito e de qualidade facilitará a interação do usuário com o parque e pode inclusive aumentar o número de frequentadores. É nosso papel dar o voto de confiança ao usuário da internet no parque de que ele usará a rede para seu próprio bem, assim como ele usa o telefone. Mas, não custa nada dizer: use com moderação.
Enquanto aguardamos a administração do parque mostrar os resultados do estudo de como viabilizar a internet no parque ao Conselho Gestor, a discussão da validade da proposta continua.
